Good day dear readers, blog followers and listeners!
After the amazing 9th Guaguanco Festival, the blog is back with wonderful Cuban music π
I’m not one to take much interest in contests and competitions of any sort, but those at the festival can really be interesting at times, and are nice to watch, occasionally.
So, the song presented today was the final’s song for Sunday’s Son Competition, and rightfully so;
Long before “salsa” was first use as an advertisement term for any and every thing “Latino”, the ingenious Ignacio Pineiro composed the now classic Echale Salsita, back in 1933…
So, here is our composition for today – an interpretation of the classic by the modern ensemble Sierra Maestra, which plays traditional and contemporary Cuban muisc, together with the talented Vocalist Celeste Mendoza.
Β‘La seguimos disfrutando!
