31.07.20 : Grupo Conexion Salsera – Tan Especial

Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

Today we shall familiarize ourselves and enjoy a little known Timba gem, all the way back from “la epoca del oro”, Cuban Timba of the 1990’s.
Grupo Connexion Salsera performed and recorded in Cuba during the 1990s and the early 2000s, releasing several CD albums and many singles, but unfortunately fading away and finally disbanding during the first decade of the new millennium…
But we are in luck, as one can listen and enjoy much of their fine music online nowadays… and this is exactly what we are going to do today 🙂

So, our composition for today is called “Tan Especial”, and here it is… and Always remember… ¡Sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!

10.07.20 : Cuba Libre Son Band – Pachanga y Charanga

Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

Loyal blog followers probably have taken note of a certain interesting fact…
There is a great myriad of bands, groups and orchestras from all over the world making wonderful Cuban music.
The majority are, naturally from Cuba – this music is part of the cultural heritage of the Cuban people.
Others stem from different lands, cities and countries, but there are places that statistically stand out, one of them being Cali, Colombia.

Today we have another such story – Cuba Libre Son Band.
The group was founded in 2014, and since then visited Cuba, played at local venues in La Habana, and were the opening act for the 58th Feria de Cali, performing just before Los Van Van!

Today’s nice composition deals with an age old question – what are the similarities and differences between Pachanga and Charanga?
