Today we shall be enjoying a nice, romantic Son Montuno composition by a talented young singer from Cali, Colombia, named Ikandra Rodriguez, who recently released her first (mini) album, Heullas del Alma.
It is a very nice composition, and I believe Ikandra has a lot of potential as a vocalist.
Thus, I hope that a full album will be released in the years to come.

Today we shall be enjoying a fine Son Montuno composition from the 90th anniversary album by the nacional treasure of Cuban music – Septeto Nacional De Ignacio Pineiro, called “Al Bate del Son de Pineiro”
Staying true to its origins, the septeto recorded new versions of several classics such as Esas no son cubanas, Convergencia and Echale salsita, but the albums also contains several completely novel, original compositions, one of which, called La Timbera Mayor, we shall be enjoying today.
So, here it is!
And remember, even another 90 years… ¡sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!

As you probably know, the mini album is called “Pa’ Que Todo Salga”, and so is the track for today, an energetic composition full of Yoruba culture chants and references.
