Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

With quarantine being all the rage nowadays, what more can we do than have a good look at the view from our balcony or window?

Today’s guest, Wil Campa, sings exactly about this, claiming to have the best view in town 😀

Wil hails from a small village near Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and demonstrated interest in music since an early age, studying at the local school of arts as a child.
His professional career started in 1988 with Orquesta Cumbre, later joining Orlando “Maraca” Valle, with whom he got a Grammy nomination in 2002.

Wil created his own band, “La Gran Union” in 2005 and since then has traveled 5 continents, released several CDs and performed with such Timba stars as Paulito FG and Alexander Abreu.

Today we shall enjoy a recently released tune that vibes quite well with the spitit of our day…

And Always remember… ¡Sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!

13.03.20 : Javier con su Ire – Son Ire

Good day dear blog readers, listeners, followers ¡y todos los amantes de la musica Cubana!

Today we shall enjoy a very nice and suave Son Montuno composition by little known Cuban group named Javier con su Ire.
Up until recently, when internet became more or less widespread in Cuba, it was not rare for groups of young and talented Cuban musicians to record a few singles or a CD at best, then disappear into the unknown…
For every young group that managed to break through and become well known internationally or even nation wide, there are several that didn’t make it past the local level.

The group we are going to listen to today recorded a CD called “Descubreme” in 2003, and unfortunately nothing else since then.

So without further ado, here it is!
And Always remember… ¡Sigue disfrutando la musica Cubana!
