{"id":721,"date":"2016-12-30T16:20:33","date_gmt":"2016-12-30T16:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=721"},"modified":"2017-06-09T07:53:23","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T07:53:23","slug":"30-12-16-top-6-timbas-you-might-have-missed-in-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salsayo.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=721","title":{"rendered":"30.12.16: top 6 Timbas you might have missed in 2016 !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers, listeners and blog followers!<\/p>\n<p>Happy new year, merry Christmas and and other holiday you might be celebrating at this time of the year \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Today I share 6 great Timba compositions not covered in my blog that you might have missed during 2016.<\/p>\n<p>So, give them a try&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>P.S:<br \/>\nThe songs are not listed in any specific order, nether chronological or otherwise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.playbuzz.com\/cdn\/1e918e11-ef19-4f20-89bd-cb6cfc532d38\/30f7d756-9f24-47bf-82b1-e200c743ec36.jpg\" width=\"930\" height=\"527\" \/><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Clave Cubana Timbera &#8211; Somos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clave Cubana Timbera is a band of Cuban musicians living in Argentina.<br \/>\nAfter playing traditional Cuban music for years, they decided that it is high time to step into the Timba era!<br \/>\nSomos is the title track of their album, and a fine composition on its own, starting out slow and\u00a0picking up energy at a steady pace until a great explosion del momento \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hVJR0YLJjQo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Orquesta Reve &#8211; Cachita<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although it hasn&#8217;t yet come out as an album, <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=29\">Orquesta Reve<\/a> released some wonderful songs for <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=654\">their 60th anniversary<\/a>, including this great composition, which is a Timba infused with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecured.cu\/Pil%C3%B3n_(G%C3%A9nero_musical)\">ritmo Pilon<\/a>, one of the first musical styles to emerge in post revolutionary Cuba during the 1960&#8217;s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s-6zcbhk-SY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>P.S:<br \/>\nA new, and very beautiful, clip has been released for this song in June 2017&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fwicG7HEmfI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Robert Armas y Los Conquistadores de la Salsa &#8211;\u00a0La Timba la Traigo Yo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a promo for their album of the same name,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=98\">Robert Armas y Los Conquistadores de la Salsa<\/a> released a very nice composition called\u00a0La Timba la Traigo Yo&#8230; and he sure does!<br \/>\nWith a driving beat and mambos, Robert and his band can surely say &#8220;tu sabes como vengo? conquistando!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tQRIaJu0gmA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Pupy y Los Que Son Son &#8211; 15 A\u00f1os<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oh, how fast time goes by&#8230; one can think that only yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=82\">Cesar &#8220;el pupy&#8221; Pedroso<\/a> left Los Van Van to pursue a solo career with his own band&#8230; but this was 15 years ago!<br \/>\nOctober 4th 2001&#8230; on this day Los Que Son Son was founded by Pupy!<br \/>\nSo, to mark this occasion, the band released an &#8220;auto-chronology&#8221; composition called &#8220;15\u00a0A\u00f1os&#8221;.<br \/>\nAnd those sure were great 15 years of artistic creation (some of the highlights of which are mentioned throughout the song) !<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tdj5MB-GsGA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Maikel Dinza y Los Soneros de la Joventud &#8211; De Igual a Igual<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The year 2016 saw the release of several cover version to great classics by <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=699\">Los Van Van<\/a>, both by the great band itself and other artists.<br \/>\nA little known cover was released earlier this year by <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=690\">Maikel Dinza y Los Soneros de la Juventud<\/a>, and it is for the wonderful\u00a0De Igual a Igual, from Van Van&#8217;s 1996\u00a0\u00a1Ay Dios, amp\u00e1rame!<br \/>\nSounds quite different from the original, but still interesting a well performed, in my opinion&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ODV3mS6JBGk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Angelito Ramirez y el Tren Bala &#8211; Bata Ya<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last but certainly not least, is a song from former Mayimbe&#8217;s singer, Angelito Ramirez and his band &#8220;el Tren Bala&#8221;, who released a mostly well made album called &#8220;Mi Historia&#8221; earlier this year.<br \/>\nIt has some better known Timba hits such as &#8220;Amigo de Que&#8221; and &#8220;Mi Historia&#8221;, which were released before the album as promos, becoming dance floor favorites long before the release of the album&#8230; but it also has some less well know, but not any less well written and performed, compositions, such as the one before you here!<br \/>\nFor the Spanish speakers among us, take note of the lyrics found on this album.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YNDi99ojJ0E\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Well, here they are&#8230; 6 great Timbas you could have easily missed this year&#8230; so I hope that this will teach us all to be a bit more diligent in 2017, and look deeper into things \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Disfruten el a\u00f1o que viene!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers, listeners and blog followers!
