{"id":714,"date":"2016-12-16T12:44:44","date_gmt":"2016-12-16T12:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=714"},"modified":"2016-12-16T12:59:06","modified_gmt":"2016-12-16T12:59:06","slug":"16-12-16-maite-hontele-y-herencia-de-timbiqui-nochecita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salsayo.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=714","title":{"rendered":"16.12.16 : Maite Hontele y Herencia de Timbiqui &#8211; Nochecita"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers, listeners and blog followers.<\/p>\n<p>Today I present you a nice, Timba-like composition which is actually by a Dutch artist that rose to fame&#8230; in Colombia!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hollandse-souvenirs.com\/image\/cache\/data\/pin-duo-vlag-nederland-colombia-2968-500x500.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Granddaughter of musician and composer Andre Hontele, Maite Hontele born at Utrecht, Holland, in 1980, and\u00a0has been playing the trumpet since\u00a0the age of 9.<br \/>\nShe played at a local band,\u00a0trying different instruments before settling upon the trumpet.<br \/>\nAt her parent&#8217;s house you could always hear Cuban and other music, especially Son and Salsa, being played, and thus later on Maite decided to study Latin &amp; Jazz trumpet at the Rotterdam conservatory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/e7LWnujwcTw\/maxresdefault.jpg\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Her first international tour was in 2003, and included Colombia.<br \/>\nThis would be a life changing experience, feeling how the Colombian crowd accepts, feels and adores the music.<br \/>\nVisiting the country several years later, Maite moved from Holland to Colombia in 2009, marrying a Colombian musician and also moving her family to the country.<br \/>\nSince that fatal tour in Colombia, Maite got nominated for the Latin Grammy&#8217;s best salsa album, played with the Buena Vista Social Club, Isaac Delgado, Ruben Blades, Oscar De Leon and Yuri Buenaventura among others.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2009 Maite released 4 albums &#8211;\u00a0Llego La Mona (2009), Mujer Sonora (2010), Dejame Asi (2013) and Te Voy a Querer (2015).<br \/>\nThe composition presented here today is a single, a collaboration with the Colombian band Herencia de Timbiqui, and shares the\u00a0great\u00a0vibe\u00a0often found in contemporary Cuban music.<\/p>\n<p>Disfruten!<\/p>\n<p>P.S:<br \/>\nI wish to express my gratitude to my friend Guy for introducing me to this song and the artist.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r2-N4hh2DWM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers, listeners and blog followers.
