{"id":656,"date":"2016-09-09T12:19:43","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T12:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=656"},"modified":"2016-09-09T16:12:50","modified_gmt":"2016-09-09T16:12:50","slug":"09-09-16-orquesta-reve-y-haila-mompie-espero-que-te-pasa-el-timepo-ella-tiene-melao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salsayo.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=656","title":{"rendered":"09.09.16 : Orquesta Reve y Haila Mompie &#8211; Espero Que te Pasa el Timepo (ella tiene melao)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers and blog followers!<\/p>\n<p>We had some <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=654\">Reve<\/a> last week, had some <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=622\">Reve<\/a> in July, and some more Reve over the years&#8230; and that is for a reason!<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s plenty of logic nicknaming <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=29\">Orquesta Reve<\/a> &#8220;la aplanadora de la musica Cubana&#8221; (pun intended \ud83d\ude42 ), as you definitely know that the orchestra is over 60 years old, and many of Cuba&#8217;s top musicians have passed through it over these decades&#8230; so it has been a school of sorts for many of the greats of contemporary Cuban and Latin music .<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/G_aSPtBZUiU\/maxresdefault.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"528\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today I gladly present a cover version&#8230; yes, a cover version!<br \/>\nIn general, I&#8217;m not that fund of such, and stick to the rule that &#8220;if it ain&#8217;t as good or better than the original, it shouldn&#8217;t exist&#8221;&#8230; and there aren&#8217;t many covers that abide by that rule&#8230;<br \/>\nBut this is a rare case when it does!<\/p>\n<p>This song is a cover of the wonderful &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YQrcB03fB_8\">Espero Que te Pasa el Tiempo<\/a>&#8221; (unfortunately, this is the only recording available on youtube&#8230; BTW, kids, do you know what this apparatus in the clip is? \ud83d\ude09 ) from 1987&#8217;s &#8220;la Explosion del Momento&#8221;, one of the best Cuban music albums of all times, and one of the 3 who brought the Orchestra back into the front of the primera linea during the 1980&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>This more modern interpretation also features the wonderful singer HaIla Mompie, formerly <a href=\"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=129\">Bamboleo&#8217;s<\/a> lead singer, who&#8217;s been including much cooperation work with various groups as a part of her solo career in recent yeras.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/vistarmagazine.com\/uploads\/article1021\/preview_cover_url\/haila.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"528\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The result is spectacular, and even differs enough from the original to (sort of&#8230;) be classified as a whole different composition, a brand new song, that even some of the people familiar with the original did not recognize right away&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0547\/1973\/products\/ElitoReveYSuCharangon-LaSalsaTieneMiSon-MX-Back.jpg?v=1459202601\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"528\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, here is this great song.<br \/>\nDisfruten!<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K8mPVT1hdEc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good day dear readers and blog followers!
