{"id":538,"date":"2015-12-25T17:50:49","date_gmt":"2015-12-25T17:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salsalust.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=538"},"modified":"2015-12-25T18:20:04","modified_gmt":"2015-12-25T18:20:04","slug":"25-12-15-blogs-3-year-anniversary-x-mass-special","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salsayo.com\/blogs\/cuban_music_che\/?p=538","title":{"rendered":"25.12.15: blog&#8217;s 3 year anniversary, x-mass special!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good evening dear readers, listeners, followers and all aficionados de la musica Cubana!<\/p>\n<p>The blog posts for tonight and for next week will be kind of special;<br \/>\nThe blog celebrates its 3rd birthday, today is Christmas day, and next Friday will be the 1st day of 2016!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.conexioncubana.net\/imagenes\/tradiciones\/905067_21021614.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"341\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, for today we shall have a Christmas special, Cuban style!<\/p>\n<p>Christmas is celebrated all over the world,\u00a0and is quite the party when in comes to Cuba (as usual \ud83d\ude42 ).<br \/>\nAs always, Cuban holidays are known for great quantities of food &amp; drink, music and dancing, all in a\u00a0great gathering of friends and family.<br \/>\nIn Cuba Christmas eve is called &#8220;la Noche Buena&#8221;, the good night.<br \/>\nChristmas day is a day\u00a0of grand family gatherings and reunions, decorating, gift giving, and of course, a mutual many hour long cooking session!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/static2.absolut-cuba.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/cc20.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Cuba the main dish for &#8220;cena de navidad&#8221; is el puerco asado, or lechon asado (respectively, the roasted pig and the roasted suckling pig).<br \/>\nDuring the day before Christmas eve, a pig is selected, slaughtered, cleaned and placed in a special marinade for a day. It is roasted by many family members at the backyard the next day.<br \/>\nOther typical dishes at the table include moros y cristianos, which is a dish of seasoned black beans on a plate of white rice, mariquitas, fried platano slices in mojo sauce, mojito and cider to drink and pudin diplomatico (pudding) or rum cake for desert.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/portadas.cartelitosface.com\/covers\/preview\/navidad-en-cuba.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"269\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, there&#8217;s no Cuban holiday without some great music!<br \/>\nSo, tonight we can enjoy a few nice festive holiday songs of traditional Cuban musical genres such as Son, Bolero, Mambo and Son Montuno!<\/p>\n<p>Feliz Navidad!<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vZqAMNgi1XM?list=PLvGuXKRcrt1iGPJVZI6VEpo8IrfrQK8ag\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good evening dear readers, listeners, followers and all aficionados de la musica Cubana!
